Jindal School of Environment & Sustainability (JSES) of O.P. Jindal Global University is looking for faculty to be hired from Spring 2023 semester (January/February 2023) or earlier, in case of availability of outstanding candidates.

Positions:

We are hiring at the level of Assistant Professor with specialization in the following areas:
• Ecological Modelling/Biostatistics
• Earth Sciences (Natural hazards/Disasters/Climate change/GIS)

Roles and Responsibilities

A successful candidate is expected to initiate a prominent research group, teach/train undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral students and mentor post-doctoral fellows at the JSES. The appointee is expected to actively contribute to raising resources in terms of extra-mural grants, and to assist in advancing a strategy for scholarly pursuits, and effective communication and information dissemination (scholarly blogs, seminars, discussions, occasional papers, etc.) to bolster international ranking of the University.

The appointee(s) will report to the Dean JSES.

Qualifications & Experience:
• A scholar/researcher of repute with Ph.D. degree from a recognized institution having at least 5 years of research experience with high-quality research publications.
• Evidence of outstanding research contribution in the form of at least five publications in top-tier journals (SJR Quartile Q2/Q3).
• A desirable ‘h’ index of 8 or above will receive more weightage.
• Visits to overseas universities on research assignments/post-doctoral, preferably in the top 200 globally ranked institutions (QS Ranking) shall receive more weightage.

Knowledge & Abilities:
• Candidates whose scholarly contributions complement teaching and research at the JSES in the field of Ecological modelling/biostatistics, and Earth Sciences (Natural Hazards/Disasters/climate change/GIS) and related research areas may apply.
